Welcome to Salty Scales Fishing Charters. By booking a trip, using our website, or participating in any charter services provided by Salty Scales Fishing Charters, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

Booking and Payment
Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
A deposit of $100 is required to secure your reservation. Full payment is due as outlined during the booking process.
Accepted payment methods may include credit card, debit card, cash, electronic payment services, or other methods approved by Salty Scales Fishing Charters.
Failure to make required payments may result in cancellation of your reservation.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Customer Cancellations
- Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the scheduled trip may receive a full refund of any deposit paid.
- Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before the trip may be eligible for a partial refund at the sole discretion of Salty Scales Fishing Charters.
- Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled trip may forfeit all deposits and payments.
- No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
Weather Cancellations
Fishing trips operate in a variety of weather conditions.
Only Capt. Joshua Taylor may determine whether conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for the scheduled trip.
If a trip is canceled by the captain due to weather, mechanical issues, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our control, clients may be offered:
- A rescheduled trip
- A credit toward a future trip
- A refund at the discretion of Salty Scales Fishing Charters
Weather forecasts alone do not constitute grounds for cancellation.
Safety Requirements
The safety of all passengers is our highest priority.
Clients agree to:
- Follow all instructions provided by the captain
- Wear safety equipment when instructed
- Remain seated during unsafe conditions when requested
- Avoid actions that may endanger themselves, other passengers, or crew
Salty Scales Fishing Charters reserves the right to terminate a trip without refund if a passenger engages in unsafe, reckless, illegal, abusive, or disruptive behavior.
Fishing Licenses
When required and applicable, fishing licenses may be covered under the vessel’s charter license as permitted by Florida law.
Clients are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local fishing regulations.
Catch Limits and Regulations
All fishing activities are subject to regulations established by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and applicable federal agencies.
Catch limits, seasons, and regulations may change without notice.
Salty Scales Fishing Charters reserves the right to release any fish necessary to remain in compliance with current regulations.
Assumption of Risk
Fishing, boating, and outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Slips, trips, and falls
- Hook injuries
- Fish-related injuries
- Weather-related hazards
- Marine wildlife encounters
- Equipment malfunctions
- Motion sickness
By participating in a charter, each passenger voluntarily assumes all risks associated with these activities.
Medical Conditions
Passengers are responsible for determining whether they are physically capable of participating in a fishing charter.
Individuals with medical conditions, mobility limitations, allergies, heart conditions, pregnancy, or other health concerns should consult a physician before participating.
Passengers prone to motion sickness are encouraged to take preventative measures before departure.
Alcohol and Controlled Substances
Responsible alcohol consumption by adults may be permitted at the captain’s discretion.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Illegal drugs
- Controlled substances not prescribed to the passenger
- Excessive intoxication
- Dangerous behavior resulting from alcohol consumption
The captain reserves the right to terminate a trip without refund if safety becomes a concern.
Children
Children are welcome aboard when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and guardians are solely responsible for supervising minors at all times.
Photography and Media
Photos and videos may be taken during fishing trips.
Unless otherwise requested in writing, Salty Scales Fishing Charters reserves the right to use photographs, videos, testimonials, and images from charter trips for:
- Website content
- Social media
- Marketing materials
- Advertising campaigns
- Promotional purposes
Clients may request exclusion from marketing materials by notifying the captain prior to departure.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salty Scales Fishing Charters, Capt. Joshua Taylor, employees, affiliates, sponsors, and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:
- Participation in charter activities
- Delays or cancellations
- Personal injury
- Property damage
- Lost items
- Travel interruptions
- Weather-related events
Website Use
All content on SaltyScalesCharter.com, including text, photographs, logos, graphics, videos, and branding, is the property of Salty Scales Fishing Charters unless otherwise noted.
Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use of website content is prohibited without written permission.
Privacy
Use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using our website or booking services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida and the United States.
Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located within the State of Florida.
Changes to These Terms
Salty Scales Fishing Charters reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
