Pilchards and threadfins have pushed in thick across the flats, along the beaches, and around the markers, and with that bait has come an aggressive wave of toothy pelagics, especially Spanish mackerel. When that bait shows up like this, everything starts to feed, and right now the bay feels alive from top to bottom. We have been dialing it in with light spinning setups like the Okuma Taveres combo, and it has been nonstop action. These fish are loading the Yeti quickly, and clients are loving every second of it. Spanish mackerel are not only great table fare, nutrient dense and delicious, but they hit fast, run hard, and put on a show. They are one of those species that keep rods bent and smiles wide, and right now they are as consistent as it gets.
