Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing Salty Scales Fishing Charters. We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be fair to both our clients and our business. Please review our cancellation and refund policy below before booking your trip.
Deposits
A deposit may be required to reserve your fishing charter date. Deposits secure your spot on our calendar and help us prepare for your trip.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, deposits are non-refundable if a cancellation occurs outside of the terms outlined below.
Client Cancellations
More Than 14 Days Prior to Trip
Cancellations made more than 14 days before the scheduled trip may receive a full refund of any deposit paid or may choose to apply the deposit toward a future charter date, subject to availability.
7 to 14 Days Prior to Trip
Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before the scheduled trip may be eligible for a reschedule or credit toward a future trip at the sole discretion of Salty Scales Fishing Charters.
Less Than 7 Days Prior to Trip
Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled trip are generally not eligible for a refund due to the difficulty of rebooking charter dates on short notice.
No Shows
Clients who fail to arrive for their scheduled charter without prior notice will forfeit any deposits or payments made and will not be eligible for a refund.
Weather Policy
Safety is always our top priority.
If Capt. Joshua Taylor determines that weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for fishing, clients will have the option to:
- Reschedule the trip for a future date, subject to availability.
- Receive a refund of any deposit or payment made.
Weather-related decisions are made solely by the captain based on marine forecasts, radar, wind conditions, lightning, sea state, and other safety considerations.
Light rain, cloudy conditions, or less-than-perfect weather do not automatically constitute unsafe conditions and may not result in cancellation.
Mechanical Issues
In the unlikely event that a mechanical failure or unforeseen circumstance prevents the trip from taking place, clients will be offered the choice of:
- Rescheduling the trip, or
- Receiving a full refund.
Early Returns
No refunds will be issued for trips that end early due to:
- Seasickness
- Personal reasons
- Schedule conflicts
- Client-requested early termination
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will typically be processed within 7-10 business days, depending on the payment method and financial institution.
